This summer we have a great line-up of face-to-face short courses:

Join us in Medicine Hat, AB, for

HA 489A Industrial Heritage at the Medalta Pottery National Historic Site
with Lorne Simpson, Conservation Architect, June 2-7th.  

Medalta is the centerpiece of a 150-acre Canadian National Historic Site in
Medicine Hat, AB. The iconic factory and beehive kilns, set against the
dramatic clay cliffs of the South Saskatchewan River, inspire artists,

In June, 2014, it will be one year since a major flood at this site.
Extensive flood mitigation is underway and will still be happening at the
time of the June course. For those interested in disaster recovery it will
be a great opportunity to see it in action.

On May  9-10th we are offering a two day workshop,

Volunteer Management, for 0.5 units of credit with the Executive Director of
Volunteer Victoria, Lisa Mort Putland.

Lisa has worked with staff, member agencies, funders, donors, and key
stakeholder groups to manage and develop relationships between volunteers
and organizations. Come join Lisa on our beautiful campus for two days and
identify the emerging trends that are impacting volunteerism and the museum
and heritage community, and create a plan for your organization's future.

to create exhibitions that inspire powerful visitor experiences.

Cultural Organizations, July 14-19. Dianne is responsible for all
philanthropic, sponsorship and stewardship programmes, and governance of the
ROM Board of Governors. She previously held roles as Vice President,
External Relations and Advancement at Trent University and as President and
CEO of SickKids Foundation. Dianne was recently appointed to Imagine
Canada's Advisory Council, and has been a chapter contributor to three
books, including "Excellence in Fundraising in Canada," published in 2011.

We are excited to have heritage conservator and design consultant, Stuart
Stark, as instructor for the brand new course

ion/HA489E004/> HA 489E Period Rooms: Research, Planning and Presentation,
from July 28-Aug 2, 2014. Stuart has worked in Museums and historic sites
and brings a museum conservation sensibility to his work. He holds degrees
in both Fine Arts and Architecture and has lectured and presented workshops
across British Columbia. In 2002 he was awarded the British Columbia
Heritage Award for "his commitment to the highest standards of project
