Black History Month – A Celebration of Voices on the Coast 

On Wednesday, February 26th the Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives will host the first of three events in celebration of Black History Month here on the Sunshine Coast. 



The event will take place at the museum from 6:30 to 8:30 and includes the launch of local author Valerie Mason John’s award winning novel Borrowed Body, performance poetry, and an open mic.  MORE Cafe and Bakeshop are sponsoring the event and will be providing the snacks and refreshments. This is a celebration for all ages and admission is by donation. Organizers Bertha Clark, Yvette Bouiti Makosso, Jean Pierre Makosso, and Valerie Mason-John, have two other events billed at the Heritage Playhouse Theatre. On Friday, February 28th and Sunday, March 2nd there will be a tribute to Nelson's Mandela’s life, adapted and directed by Jean Pierre Makosso.
