It's that time of year again!  Our 28th annual Midsummer's Eve of the Arts
Benefit Event is coming up on Wednesday July 16th.   Please see the media

The Vernon Public Art Gallery 

Celebrating the 28th year of 

Midsummer's Eve of the Arts!

Where: Turtle Mountain Winery, 3111 Agnew Rd. Vernon BC

When: July 16 2014, 6:30pm-11:00pm

Why: Annual Fundraising Event, Art Auction and Garden Party

Who: Vernon Public Art Gallery 

Midsummer's Eve of the Arts is the social event of the season, proudly
presented to you by The Vernon Public Art Gallery and Predator Ridge. The
event features an exciting live art auction and garden party at Turtle
Mountain Winery. 

"Guests will delight in spectacular views of Okanagan Lake and the
surrounding vineyards.  This year we are excited offer a variety of gourmet
appetizers from four different local businesses.  The Midsummer's Eve of the
Arts Benefit Event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the Okanagan art
scene while enjoying the amazing landscape and local fair."

This year we are excited to offer gourmet appetizers and desserts from Olive
Us, Monashee's Bar & Grill, Cracked Pepper Catering and Gumtree Catering.
Beverage service is provided by Okanagan Springs Brewery, Gray Monk,
Okanagan Spirits and Starbucks Coffee.  Vernon's own Kath and the TomKats
will perform a mix of live jazz and blues music, creating a soothing
atmosphere for guests to mingle and view art before the live art auction and
after the auction for those who wish to linger and enjoy the atmosphere. Don
Raffan, a world champion auctioneer of Valley Auction Ltd. will once again
entertain guests in the live auction. Betty Selin of the Sunrise Show at Sun
FM will emcee the event.

"We have over 80 submissions of art and specialty packages in the live and
silent auction. Everything from large scale paintings by international
renowned artists, to luxury accommodation packages, there is a lot to choose
from. Midsummer's Eve of the Arts is the art gallery's largest fundraising
event of the year and the proceeds support the outstanding exhibitions and
programming the Gallery offers to the public each year. Come out and show
your support and enjoy a great night out."

What is included with your event ticket?

*         Shuttle service is available to and from the Schubert Centre
starting at 6:00pm. 

*         Free parking onsite at Turtle Mountain Winery.

*         Complimentary food service, and one free drink ticket for beer,
wine or cocktails (+ cash bar).

*         Live entertainment with Kath and the TomKats, playing until
11:00pm

*         A live and two silent auctions beginning at 8:00pm. 

*         A summer raffle ticket draw for a painting valued at $3500.00 by
Jane Everett, the draw is at 9pm and raffle tickets are $10 each, available
in advance at the gallery or at the event.

VPAG AGM & Art Auction Preview 

Thursday July 10th from 6:00ppm to 8:00pm at Vernon Public Art Gallery.

*         All art auction items are currently on display in our Community
Gallery.

*         Come meet the artists that donated work for the Midsummer's Eve of
the Arts.

*         Show your appreciation to all the artists who donated their work
to support VPAG.

*         Place a bid on an item in advance if you are not able to attend
the MEA event.

*         VPAG AGM will also take place this evening, your chance to get
involved and be heard.

Satellite Ticket Sales Locations:

The Vernon Public Art Gallery will be set up at the following locations and
times leading up to the event to sell MEA event and raffle ticket.

*         MEA Raffle and Event tickets for sale @ Friday Night Fights @
Predator Ridge with wine tasting from Perseus Winery, Friday July 4th 5pm-
6pm. 

*         The Downtown 30th Ave Market outside of Practical Kitchen and
Scotia Bank on 4pm to 7pm on Friday July 4th and Friday July 11th.

*         Exhibition on Screen, Edvard Munch 150 @ The Vernon & District
Performing Arts Centre, Saturday July 5, 1pm, before and after the show.

*         Silver Star Norco Event Saturday July 5th . 

*         MEA Raffle and Event tickets for sale @ Friday Night Fights @
Predator Ridge with wine tasting from Parallel Estates, Friday July 11th
5pm- 6pm.
