[BCMA] Woodfibre Exhibit Contest

WOODFIBRE PHOTO/ STORY/ ARTEFACT CONTEST

Did you grow up in Woodfibre? Did you work there? What little known facts do
you know about the people, the community, the Mill, and the surrounding
areas that not everyone knows? 

ENTER TO WIN:

On Friday, September 26, 2014 the Squamish Historical Society is opening a
Woodfibre exhibit at the Machine Shop at the Britannia Mine Museum to shed
light on the history of Woodfibre before LNG. We are looking for your
photos, stories and artefacts to include in a time line spanning from
Woodfibre's early beginnings in 1912 until its closure in 2006 to complement
our archival photos and displays. 

 

Did you know? 

.             Woodfibre was originally known as "Britannia West"? 

.             Woodfibre had the highest population of Japanese in BC before
World War Two? 

.             When the men went to war, the woman stepped in to run the
Mill?

 

The SHS will be sharing your entries on facebook & twitter and are asking
our followers to vote for their favourite entries. There are several prizes
to be won including the first place prize of a weekend away in a 2 Bedroom
Deluxe Suite at the Executive Suites Resort, Squamish plus invitations to
the official opening night of the exhibit, Friday, September 26, 2014.

30th, 2014 for your chance to be part of Woodfibre history.
