THE GREATER VERNON MUSEUM & ARCHIVES PRESENTS THE EAST HILL HERITAGE WALK

 

EAST HILL HERITAGE WALK

Location: Lower East Hill area

Date: Friday September 26, 2014

Time: 9:30am - 11:30am, followed by complementary coffee

Tickets: $10.00/person

Join Barbara Hartley, a long time East Hill resident and member of the
Friends of the Vernon Museum, as she guides you on a leisurely walk through
the historic lower East Hill neighborhood. Barbara will discuss how the
neighborhood has changed over the years, point out homes of architectural
interest and share stories of the families who've made the neighborhood
their home over the years. Hartley encourages former or current East Hill
residents to bring their stories to share. Participants will have the
opportunity to view (from the outside) upwards of 20 heritage buildings of
various architectural styles. From Vernon's Court House to St. James Church
to the Campbell house that sits atop 30th Avenue, the tour crisscrosses
lower East Hill and will be followed by complementary coffee. 

 

The walk, limited to 15 people, takes place Friday September 26th from
9:30am-11:30am. Tickets are $10.00/person and are only available at the
Greater Vernon Museum & Archives prior to the event.
