Meghann O'Brien will share her journey from athlete to professional textile
artist. Moving though traditional Northwest Coast forms and styles, she
shares her process of discovery and transformation.

About the Exhibition
Sky Blanket
March 5 ­ April 6, 2014
Featuring the work of Haida-Kwakwaka¹wakw-Irish textile artist, Meghann
O¹Brien. She explores the emergence of the human spirit face in Raven¹s Tail
textiles, evoking memory of place and objects in the past, present, and
future. Inspired by her ancestors¹ works, knowledge, aesthetics, and ideas
of the mountainous landscape of sky and snow, Meghann O¹Brien reveals the
intimate experience of her inner and outer worlds.

This exhibition is curated by Dr. Martine Reid and sponsored by the Scriba
Art Society.
