Hi everyone,

Another occasional update on the latest happenings at your BC Museums Association:

Annual Conference Announced! Join us at this year's BC Museums Association Conference in Penticton from Oct 22-25. Called The Third Space- Re-imagining our Cultural Landscape, we will explore the importance of the third space in contemporary Canadian society- a gathering place where cultural institutions live, separate from, but reflective of, the spaces of work and home. Registration is open soon. In the meantime have a peek at how the schedule is shaping up.
Call for Papers: Have an interest in presenting or running a workshop at this year’s conference in Penticton? We are looking for presenters from as short as 5 minutes to a full day, including sessions on marine and transport museums and First Nations cultural sites. Click here for more info. Deadline: June 2.
BCMA Museums in Motion Awards: Know a deserving person or organization in our community that has done something outstanding and deserves to be recognized? Nominations are now being accepted. Click here for more info. Deadline: June 2.
Call for volunteers: The BCMA Awards Committee and the Communications Committee is looking to add to their respective groups. Interested? Drop us a line at bcma at museumsassn.bc.ca
First World War Resources: Commemorating the First World War during the centenary period and looking for resources? Check out the BC Remembers Resources page, a result of the recent province-wide forum BCMA produced in partnership with Royal Roads University.
