Local Talents Exposed!  VPAG Opens Annual Art Sale Just in Time for the
Holidays

 

What: Annual Members’ Exhibition and Fundraiser Opening Reception

Where: Vernon Public Art Gallery, 3228 31st Ave. Vernon, BC

When: Thursday November 20, 2014, 6-8pm

Who: Vernon Public Art Gallery 


The annual members’ exhibition titled Exposed! focuses on creating
exhibition opportunities for Gallery members. The exhibition contains two
and three dimensional works of art of modest sizes and is a celebration of
creativity and artistic production by aspiring artists. The artwork will be
available for purchase and part proceeds support ongoing exhibitions and
programming at the Vernon Public Art Gallery.  This is a fantastic
opportunity for the community to support local artists and the Vernon Public
Art Gallery while finding unique gifts for friends and family this holiday
season.

 

The ambiguous title Exposed! is open to interpretation.  Artists are free to
use the medium of their choice for their artwork, which adds a lovely
variety of pieces to the show.

 

The exhibition is also a fundraiser for the Gallery. All the art is
available for purchase and proceeds support the artist(s) who created the
work, with a small percentage going back to support the Gallery. Because the
works of art are of a modest size, the prices are reasonable and a great
opportunity for art lovers to own or gift an original piece of art.  The
show closes on December 22nd and artwork that has been purchased is
available for pick up on Wednesday December 24th as the gallery will be open
on Christmas Eve until 4pm.

 

“The annual member’s exhibition offers local emerging artists the
opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting.  A
Gallery Shop gift certificate will be awarded to the recipient of the
People’s Choice Award as voted by Gallery visitors.  We want to say thank
you to our members for the support they provide us throughout the year and
this exhibition is our chance to do that.”

The opening reception of Exposed! will be at the Vernon Public Art Gallery,
3228 31st Ave, located underneath the Downtown Vernon Parkade, on Thursday,
November 20th from  6:00 – 8:00pm.  Don’t miss your chance to get first pick
of the artwork up for sale!  Join us for an evening of music, art, food,
Okanagan Springs Brewery beer, Grey Monk red and white wine and fruit punch!
Enjoy a fabulous spread of crisp crudités, cured European meats, artisan
cheeses, and a fruit and chocolate confectionary surprise! 

 

Exposed! will be on display at the gallery until Tuesday December 22, 2014.
Admission to the Gallery is by donation, this is an all-ages event, locals
and families are encouraged to join us in celebrating local Okanagan art.
