THE GREATER VERNON MUSEUM & ARCHIVES hosts SUPER PREDATORS OF THE ICE AGE
PRESENTATIONS

 

Location: Greater Vernon Museum & Archives

Dates:  Saturday November 15th, 2014  

Time: 10:00am-11:30am and 1:30pm- 3:00pm

Saturday November 15th the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives will host two
presentations on the Super Predators of the Ice Age by Dr. Robert Young. The
first presentation, from 10:00am - 11:30am, is family oriented with children
10 and up welcome. The second, a more academic presentation on the same
topic will take place from 1:30pm-3:00pm. Dr. Young, UBC Okanagan Associate
Professor from the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, has spent a
good deal of his career working on Ice Age Paleontology projects and is
fascinated by the extraordinary wildlife of the time. Young says "Most
enthralling were the Super Predators - an assemblage of predators so large
that we would have difficulty dealing with them today, if they had survived
the extinction" Dr. Young encourages everyone to bring their cameras and
have their photo taken with the replica skulls he'll have on hand. There
will also be time following both presentations for questions. 

 

Purchase your tickets, only available in advance, at the museum for
$3.00/person. As space is limited we encourage you to get your tickets
