Bring your stories and photographs of the West End
Free, No Registration Required
"Tales from the West End" is an invitation to explore and experience our
community through stories about our common past. The JJBean coffee shop is
located in the original Maxine's Hideaway, a West End landmark with many
tales hidden in its walls. Originally a beauty parlour, many legends about
tunnels and illicit activity in this building are part of the folklore of
the West End. This is an opportunity to visit this newly renovated historic
building, mingle with your neighbours, hear stories about Maxine's and the
West End from storyteller Mary Gavan, and explore opportunities and ideas to
create community around the stories that contributed to creating our
neighbourhood."
