[BCMA] Job Opportunity: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CURATOR 2014-15

The North Vancouver Museum & Archives is seeking an experienced individual to fill a one-year (4 days per week) position as a Community Engagement Curator. The job posting is attached.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Community Engagement Curator will spearhead a project to solicit community-contributed content for a non-traditional history of North Vancouver to coincide with the community's 125th anniversary. The position will publicize and coordinate the project, implement community engagement techniques, establish a project Advisory Group, assemble and scan contributed materials, assist volunteers with oral history interviews, curate an online exhibit of contributed materials (working with a web designer), and liaise with the author (Daniel Francis) and publisher (Harbour Publishing) of a non-traditional, history of North Vancouver to be published in 2016 on the community's 125th birthday.

We thank the British Columbia Arts Council for partial funding of this position.
