These are exciting times for the Haida Gwaii Museum! Scott Marsden, our new Director, and Jason Alsop, our Intern Curator, are leading our museum to a new phase, focusing on educational, collections and archival programing to appeal to the broadest spectrum of Haida Gwaii. In seeking support for these initiatives, the Haida Gwaii Museum is pleased to present the first Gala and Art Auction on Saturday, September 27, 2014 starting at 7:00pm. The Gala will feature food from the_K_ay Bistro and Art auction of Haida and All-Island artists, followed by music and dancing withdj0 unincorporated and DJ Jay and one-of-a-kind door prizes.

The Haida Gwaii Museum opened in 1976 and continues to build an 
international reputation for its outstanding collection of Haida 
historical objects, contemporary art, archives and natural history 
collections. The museum believes art and history can have positive 
effects in our community, encouraging creativity and promoting new ways 
of thinking about our world. Culture is as vital as health and education 
to improve the quality of life. At the museum, we are committed to 
realizing these goals by presentinghigh quality exhibitions and programs 
that directly reflect the generosity of the community.

We invite you to support for our world class museum and celebrate its 
accomplishments at the gala event of the year. Our objective is to raise 
funds to help us continue to present outstanding exhibition programming, 
building our renowned collection and archives and develop cutting edge 
public programming.Individual tickets are $65 and include a one-year 
museum membership to the museum (a $40 value).
