** Busy Weekend Ahead at the Grist Mill

As you've probably heard by now, the upcoming weekend is very busy here in the Similkameen Valley!

SIMILKAMEEN SIZZLE - Saturday

On Saturday is the Similkameen Sizzle (http://oldgristmill.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=168f0b79a25a2eadf4cf886db&id=5b2a8143da&e=492a16de0f) pepperfest, Canada's only hot pepper festival. That happens down in Memorial Park in downtown Keremeos
and will feature chili and hot sauce competions as well as the "Sear Factor" pepper eating contest. Click the link above for more information.

EQUINOX KITCHEN PARTY - Saturday Night

Later on that evening, at 6:00PM, as a lead-in to our own Heritage Fall Fair and to celebrate the impending Fall Equinox, the Grist Mill will be hosting a Kitchen Party featuring Jocelyn Pettit and the Pettit Band. Based in Squamish, Jocelyn is a vibrant fiddle player, stepdancer, singer and composer that is sure to get people up and dancing and making merry around our Summer Kitchen. Tickets for the Kitchen Party are $20 and available for sale at the Grist Mill front desk or on the website at www.oldgristmill.ca. Our Chef Natasha will also have some hearty and kitchen party-friendly dinner options available for an additional charge if you come hungry. A handful of tickets may be available at the door.

(Also, there are still a handful of spaces left in our campground if you'd like to make a weekend of it...)

HERITAGE FALL FAIR - Sunday

Of course, the big event is our own Heritage Fall Fair on Sunday. There will be almost seventy exhibit categories to see or compete in as well as heritage games of skill, concessions, entertainment and even a petting zoo on site for the day, courtesy of Andy's Animal Acres from Naramata. The whole site will be filled with family-oriented activity for the day and we hope you'll come join us! Admission is $7 for Adults and $5 for students and seniors.

Are you proficient at preserves, brilliant at baking, daft at crafts, well-versed at veggies or adept at flower arrangement? If so, consider entering your talents into our friendly competition.
