The Penticton Museum will be hosting the first  Brown Bag Lecture of the Fall season on Tuesday, September 23th from noon - 1pm. For those wanting to spice their lunch hour with interesting presentations and discussions on a variety of heritage and culture topics, the public are encouraged to come to the museum/library auditorium and enjoy some great brain food.

Speaker : Chad Gentes
Topic : 'History of the Penticton Foundry'

Join certified metallurgist Chad Gentes as he explores the visual history and processes behind one of Penticton's oldest companies, the Penticton Foundry. Formed in 1922 as the L.L. Wilkins Machine Shop & Foundry, the 92 year old company has been a manufacturing mainstay of the Penticton economy.

The talk coincides with the Penticton Museum's latest exhibit, Fireborn : How Foundries Shaped the Modern World. The public opening of the exhibit is on Friday, Sept 26th from 4 - 7 pm and is sponsored by the Penticton Foundry.

Chad Gentes is the QA Manager and Metallurgist for the Penticton Foundry. He is has Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Alberta.
