[BCMA] Boxcar seeks new home!

Hi Amanda,


I wonder if the City of Port Coquitlam might be interested in looking into this.  We are the CPR "headquarters" of the lower mainland, with the CP main lot located here.  I work for the museum PoCo Heritage, and will ask around regarding who at City Hall is the appropriate contact for this type of thing.  In the meantime, could you pass along more information about the car, transportation, etc?

Hello everyone,
For many months the Kelowna Museums Society has been looking for a new home for a Canadian Pacific Railway refrigerated boxcar (#CP 450243). In a last effort to try to save the boxcar, we are reaching out to the BCMA in case there are any new leads we can follow up on.
As CN is removing rail beds, time is running out to save the boxcar from being scrapped. It presents some significant challenges, including the fact that it contains asbestos and is considerably rusted in some areas.
If any of you know of any committed rail enthusiasts that might be interested in a restoration challenge, please contact me. I can provide further details on the car's condition and transport options.
