[BCMA] Invitation to Grand Re-"Launch" HMCS Alberni Museum

Hello all,

Sorry this is very late getting out to those of you close enough to attend.  Our museum faced a full move the first of August and we have had to completely redesign the interior of a new facility in the same building to accommodate the HMCS Alberni Museum and Memorial (HAMM). It goes without saying that some things such as announcements have been overlooked.

However this newer unit is almost twice the size as we had before which will allow for guest exhibits, expansion of our current displays and a lot more flexibility.  We are looking forward to our new reopening as well since we will be able to host the local Naval Cadets for some of their ceremonies right here at the museum.

The parent organization (The Alberni Project - TAP) will be marking its 15th anniversary at this opening celebration as well as the 2nd anniversary of the creation of HAMM.  Because the opening ceremony was so close to Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Day (of which TAP normally hosts the local observance) we will begin our celebration with a FREE 30 minute concert with Roger Helfrick to honour those men and women of the Merchant Navy during WWII instead of the usual commemoration event normally held Sept 3.

Mark Saturday, September 5th at 1:00 pm on your calendars.  Our guest ribbon cutters will be representing those Canadians of the Great War, the families of the crew of HMCS Alberni, the Canadian Forces during WWII, and the Merchant Navy of WWII.
