[BCMA] Call for Scotland connections

Hi everyone,

 

We have been speaking with Harry McGrath
<http://www.scottishcanadianagency.com/?page_id=176> , special advisor to
the Centre for Scottish Studies <http://www.scottish.sfu.ca/>  at Simon
Fraser University, regarding a report he is writing for the Scottish
Government's Team Scotland in Canada
<http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/International/Americas/north-america/cana
daplan> , based in Toronto. The main purpose of the report is to help extend
the knowledge of Scottish arts and culture for the agency beyond eastern
Canada. The BCMA would like to see our community included in this report.

 

If your institution, organization or collection has Scottish connections and
you would like to be listed in this report, we would encourage your response
to this call. The arts and culture "connection" to Scotland could be that
your heritage house has a Scottish story, you have exhibits of Scottish
artifacts or archives on permanent display, you have a gallery with
paintings by Scottish artists, your organization promotes Scottish arts and
culture, or you have planned an upcoming exhibition or public programming on
Scotland. Themes of emigration, settlement, farming, historical milestones,
and public figures might prove prominent, as well as contemporary
collaborations with artists, for example.
