Join us at Turtle Mountain Winery for the 29th Annual Midsummers Eve of the
Arts Benefit art auction & garden party. Central to the festivities is the
live art auction conducted by the Raffan Brothers. Gourmet food from local
caterers, regional wines and beer, live music, dancing and a photo booth all
add to the ambiance of the evening. Midsummers Eve of the Arts has long
been recognized as the social event of the season!
The generosity of our supporting artists and businesses this year has been
overwhelming! For those looking to purchase a piece of art, they couldnt
pick a better year for quality and selection. We have artwork for the first
time buyers through to the serious collectors. I highly recommend you stop
by the Big Steel Box Gallery and the VPAG Community gallery to preview the
work ahead of time and prepare your bids, there are some pieces you dont
want to miss out on.
Dauna Kennedy Grant, Executive Director.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on July 15th, guests arrive and will be able
to redeem their admission ticket for a free white or red Sangria. Live
music by local band Feet First will entertain the crowd throughout the
evening until 11 p.m. Locally catered canapés will be passed while guests
mingle and take in the fabulous array or artworks and auction packages we
have available this year. Cash bar will also be available for beer and wine
and sangria. From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. a photo booth with a professional
photographer will be available for guests to capture their summer memories
in. At 8 p.m. the live art auction begins. After the auction guests are
encouraged to stay and dance and enjoy the stunning views of the valley
over-looking Lake Okanagan. The event ends at 11 p.m.
We have some noteworthy artworks up for auction this year including a Bryan
Ryley painting that will be reproduced for the upcoming VPAG banner project.
The banner will be mounted on the East side of the downtown Vernon Parkade.
This is your chance to have the original painting in your collection! Also
new this year we will have a painting created live at the event by Amanda
Shatzko, to be auctioned off in the live auction.
All of the artworks and auction packages for the event are available to view
online at www.vernonpublicartgallery.com under current exhibitions in the
Midsummers Eve of the Arts Preview. Or swing the Big Steel Box Satellite
Gallery and the Community Gallery at VPAG to see the newest additions to the
preview, including packages for accommodation, recreation, health/spa and
more! Midsummers Eve of the Arts is the longest running art auction in
