[BCMA] Antique Desks - $100

Hello, 

 

As per suggestion from Theresa Mackay, I am forwarding this email to all
members of BC Museums Association

in hopes a finding a home for these antique desks.

 

Asking price -- $100 each desk, I have three desks.

Buyer will need to arrange pick-up. I am located in Surrey, B.C.

 

As shown in attached photo - antique desks are made from oak wood,

shellacked with a light honey-colour stain.

 

The frames are metal and the seats and desktops are made of wood, all one

piece - desktop and seat connected.

 

Desktop = 22"L X 15"W x 25"H with single storage compartment - metal.

 

Inkwell = 2"diameter

 

Pencil groove = 12"L

 

Seat = 17"L x 12"W x 14"H

 

Backrest = 17"W x 28"H

 

Total length = 34"

 

 

My parents purchased the desks in 1973 from Marlborough Elementary School

located at Marlborough Avenue and Sanders Street in Burnaby, B.C.

 

We lived across the street from this school, and my sister attended
Kindergarten there. 

 

These desks are likely from the 1950s. They are in very good condition, a
bit of oxidation on the metal runners.
