You control the color, texture, shape, translucency, patterning and more, and can use it to create free-standing forms as well as apply it to other media and surfaces. In this fast-paced workshop, you'll learn about polymer clays (we'll use Fimo Professional) via "Mokume Gane", an ancient Japanese metalworking technique adapted for polymer to its great advantage.

Then you'll use these colors to fabricate your own unique array of individual patterned polymer elements. Next, you'll apply your polymer elements to various flat and shaped objects. Tory will show you a range of objects that she patterns with Mokume Gane: artists' books, wall art, mobiles, brooches, vessels, sculptures, necklaces boxes, and more. She'll offer ideas and inspire ways you can use polymer clays to develop what interests you most. You'll leave with a solid grasp of how polymer clays can carry your aesthetic further!
