Midsummer's Eve of the Arts Auction Artwork Now on Display!
 
The Vernon Public Art Gallery is excited to announce that all of the donated
artworks for the 2015 Midsummer's Eve of the Arts auction will be on display
at the Big Steel Box Satellite Gallery.  The artwork will be on display as a
preview to the annual fundraiser auction from June 16th through to July
13th, 2015.  This year we have a very exciting collection to display,
including some large scale pieces by Sean Serfas and Gary Dewhurst, some
valuable work by Peter Ewart and Joyce Devlin, along with more artworks in
various mediums from artists across the valley.  There is something for
everyone in this year's auction collection, with some great packages donated
by local businesses as well.
 
 "We are overwhelmed at the caliber of work being donated to Midsummer's Eve
of the Arts this year from emerging and senior artists.  As a way of
thanking our generous artists and donors we have decided to host a preview
exhibition in the Big Steel Box gallery across from Cenotaph Park.  Please
stop by and if you are so inclined, leave a sealed bid on your favorite item
for the auction."

This year the gallery has also displayed all the donated artworks on a
webpage on vernonpublicartgallery.com under current exhibitions, with an
advanced sealed bid feature.  If you see an artwork you must have, you now
have the option to make an advanced sealed bid that will stand on the night
of the event at the auction.
 
This collection of artwork is not to be missed, and collectors will delight
in what they find this year. Some of the mediums included in the collection
are acrylic, oil, watercolour, printmaking, sculpture and collage.  This is
a great way to spend an afternoon in downtown Vernon. The Midsummer's Eve of
the Arts Auction Preview is a fabulous attraction for tourists and visitors
of Vernon to check out, displaying such a diverse mix of work by local
artists. Ratio Coffee is still located out front so visitors can enjoy hot
or cold beverages and gourmet pastries upon their visit to the Midsummer's
Eve of the Arts Auction Preview.

The Big Steel Box Satellite Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday
to Saturday, closed on Sundays, Mondays and holidays. The Satellite Gallery
is located at the corner of 31st Ave and 31st St. across from Cenotaph Park.
