[BCMA] Repairing bottle labels

Hello, everyone out there in Museum-land,

 

I've had an inquiry from someone who has recently purchased an antique wine
bottle (about 120 years old, I think). The label was torn during the
shipping-and-unwrapping process, and they've asked me how to repair it.

 

Can anyone offer some suggestions, beyond the "don't use Scotch tape" advice
I was able to come up with?
