Christmas comes to the Royal BC Museum
VICTORIA, BC – The holiday season can be a hectic and hurried time, but for an escape from the hustle and bustle, the Royal BC Museum offers holiday events with a simple spirit.
The holiday season kicks off at the Royal BC Museum on Sunday, Nov. 29 with the annual favourite, Carol-Along with the Carillon. Bring your family, friends and pooch to gather under the Centennial Carillon and sing along with the Newcombe Singers and world-renowned carillonneur Jon Lehrer as he plays holiday classics.
Free hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Royal BC Museum help to make the season bright and at the end of the 45 minute set, the Carillion is lit in seasonal colours for the holidays.
Starting on Friday, Dec. 4, Father Christmas will be coming to the seasonally decorated Old Town at the Royal BC Museum to hear holiday wishes from the young ones and pose for photographs for the parents.
Father Christmas will be at the Royal BC Museum Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from December 4 – 20, from 11 am – 3pm. Enjoying Father Christmas’ company is included with admission or membership and photos are by donation.
Copies of photographs taken by the Royal BC Museum photographer will be provided by email, and parents are also welcome to take their own photos.
Share your photos of Father Christmas with the Royal BC Museum on Twitter by tagging @RoyalBCMuseum and using #RBCMSanta.
The first visit from Father Christmas coincides with the opening of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2015 exhibition, which opens December 4 and runs until April 4, 2016.
