[BCMA] what is this?

Dear BCMA members

Can anyone identify this item? It turned up in a bunch of donations for the
Greek Heritage Project Museum in Victoria and I can't find any references
for it.

It is 7 1/2" long 1" diameter wood with suede or raw leather around half
the tool.
