Greetings from Campbell River! I would like to suggest that you consider having our Museum present at the Conference. The story of how Campbell River has had the Museum be in the forefront of assisting to reinvent our community (after mill closures, mining shutdowns, fishing challenges) is an example of how heritage, arts and culture all combine within overall community development. We are a leading example of a resource based economy currently in transition. The Museum’s role (along with our local Arts Council) in partnering with cultural tourism strategies, environmental initiatives, First Nation’s engagement, Public Art and overall community outreach programming, has seen us re-define ourselves as a true community gathering place and catalyst for positive change

Our achievements in ‘Preserving our Past’ are being redefined in new ways, notably through our programming and changing exhibits.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss further and present our story at the Conference in October. Cheers, ken
