All wannabe firefighters don't miss the Vernon Museum's Junior Firefighter Fun Day, Saturday May 7th, from 11am-3pm, sponsored by the Fairfield Inn & Suites.  This action-packed family event in celebration of the Vernon Fire Department's 125th Anniversary will have the museum hopping with activity, both inside and out! Learn about the early history of the Vernon Fire Brigade and the Fire Brigade Band with our new exhibit. Firefighter games, crafts and activities for the kids will be featured outside as well, including a Dalmatian Bouncy Castle courtesy of Bounce Hire and face painting by Serena Phelan. Plus, the Vernon Fire Department will have several Antique Fire Trucks on display outside the museum. Admission is by donation. Leave yourself enough time to take in the Vernon Fire Department's Open House the same day from 11am-2pm at the Vernon Fire Hall. Fun activities for the kids are planned, in addition to an Antique Fire Apparatus Display, Fire Bell Restoration Project, Photo Gallery and a BBQ provided by the Lions Club.
