MUSEUM ASSISTANT / EDUCATOR

 

 

The City of Penticton Museum is seeking a motivated team player to fill a
full time position of Museum Assistant/Educator.  The successful candidate
will have experience in a museum, gallery, heritage site or similar
environment, including experience working with volunteers and children.

 

The successful candidate will also possess:

*	Post-secondary diploma or degree in areas relating to history,
sciences or education or an equivalent combination of education and
experience
*	Continuing education courses/certification in museum/art
gallery/education an asset.
*	Demonstrated knowledge of museum procedures and practices.
*	Proficient with Microsoft Office software (specifically Excel, Word
and Powerpoint).
*	Proficiency with graphics or video editing software (eg. PhotoShop
or Adobe Premier) and social media platforms is an asset.
*	Superior public relations and customer service skills.
*	Strong oral and written communication skills.
*	Attention to detail.
*	Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*	Ability to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting.
*	Valid criminal record check.
*	Valid Class 5 BC Driver's licence.

 

 

The salary for this unionized position is $22.25 to $$24.73 per hour (pay
grade 040), plus generous benefits and pension plans.
