[BCMA] Ammo box in Creston

Hi Tammy - I recently built a replica First World War box not too unlike this one. What I learned was that  originals are quite rare, as the troops tended to burn the wood in the trenches. Not many came back! The top on this one is different, but the metal lining, markings and dimensions are similar. Check the CMH artifact collections on line - (http://collections.historymuseum.ca) they have a very nice one posted with more information. Also, the Canadian Expeditionary Force Study Group blog had a lot of information about these boxes! There were many manufacturers, but they were all similar. Hope this helps.
