[BCMA] Call for Research Participants - Royal Roads University MA in Tourism Management project about BC museums

Hello,



My name is Ben Fast, and I am conducting research into museums in BC for my
Graduate Research Project, a component of my Master of Arts in Tourism
Management degree from Royal Roads University.  My credentials with Royal
Roads University can be established by contacting either of my supervisors,
Dr. Brian White (Brian.White at royalroads.ca) or Dr. Eugene Thomlinson (
Eugene.1thomlinson at royalroads.ca).



I am seeking participants from all types of BC museums (history museums,
art galleries, science centres, heritage houses, etc.) to participate in
short interviews exploring the use of tools measuring visitor experience in
on-site visits.  Participants must be able to speak to the reasons why
their institutions use or do not use visitor experience survey tools, how
this research is implemented, and other aspects relating to visitor studies
in their museum.  The interviews will be conducted by phone between 8-19
February 2016, or in-person if you work within the Greater Victoria area.



In keeping with the high ethical research standards and practices required
by Royal Roads University, the results of this research project will be
published and archived in the Royal Roads University Library.  The
information you provide will be anonymous and summarized in the final
report.  At no time will any specific comments be attributed to any
individual unless your specific agreement has been obtained beforehand.
All documentation will be kept strictly confidential.  All interview
responses will be anonymous and confidential.  If you choose to withdraw
from this study before your interview or have your responses removed
anytime before the report is published, the data you have submitted will
not be retained.  All data will be kept in a secure hard drive for a period
of two years after the completion of this research.  You are not compelled
to participate in this research project or to reply to this call for
participants.  If you do choose to participate, you are free to withdraw at
anytime without prejudice.  Similarly, if you choose not to participate in
this research project, this information will also be maintained in
confidence.  Please also note, I am a member of the BCMA and a former
contractor with the organization (contracted through Royal Roads
University) but the BCMA is not acting as a client/sponsor for this paper
nor am I currently employed by the organization.
