Famers Market: every Thursday from 3-7pm at Leigh Square until September 29
Cinema Under the Stars: every 2nd Friday from July 8 to August 19 (time varies)
Village Vibe Performing Arts Series: every Saturday from July 2 to August 27 (2-4pm)
Music in the Park: every Sunday from July 3 to August 28 (2-4pm)

Port Coquitlam, BC - Bring your family and friends for fun summer experiences each week at the Farmers Market, Village Vibe Performing Arts Series, Music in the Park, and Cinema Under the Stars-all free events taking place at Leigh Square and local parks! Here are the events for the third week of Summer in the City.

Village Vibe Performing Arts Series*-Saturday, July 16th from 2-4pm at Leigh Square
Wind-Up Birds are a group of Port Coquitlam musicians with a love of jazz and indie rock. Their blend of funk, rock and smooth indie pop is guaranteed to get you in a groovy mood and make you wanna dance. Sweet and slow or upbeat and catchy; Wind-Up Birds do it all.

Sherry Duggal Join professional dancer and spoken word artist Sherry Duggal for an afternoon of poetry and dance! Sherry Duggal has a diverse interest in the arts, including writing, acting and dance. Dance is poetry in motion and she likes to transfer that movement onto the page while exploring universal themes that tie everyone together. Her Indian classical/bharatnatyam and Bollywood dance background adds rhythm to her spoken word pieces. sherryduggal.wix.com/sherry-duggal

Music in the Park**-Sunday, July 17th from 2-4pm at Leigh Square
Chapter 11. Chapter 11's Bob Collins and Rob Sheridan have been playing and writing music together for over 25+ years. With polished harmonies and musical arrangements, Chapter 11 has been entertaining groups at private parties, house concerts, pubs, restaurants and coffee houses everywhere. When the audience wants to be entertained, this pair of performers has the music and the stories to deliver a fun show while putting their own unique spin on the music of the best known Pop, Rock, Country, Celtic, Folk and Blues with an invitation to sing a long!


THIS WEEK'S FARMER'S MARKET THEME IS - Playing With Clay

*Village Vibe Performing Arts Series takes place on a covered outdoor stage at Leigh Square every Saturday afternoon from July through August and features emerging performers in dance and music and creative writing. The program is free and provides opportunities for local artists to gain exposure and experience in front of a live audience. The series runs rain or shine and everyone is welcome.

**Music in the Park features the finest professional musicians from across Metro Vancouver playing a variety of genres including jazz, blues, folk, world fusion, and contemporary. It takes place on a covered outdoor stage at Leigh Square every Sunday at 2 pm throughout July & August. The series is free and runs rain or shine, everyone is welcome.

The Summer in the City Festival of Arts, Culture & Entertainment is presented by Leigh Square Community Arts Village and the City of Port Coquitlam's Recreation department and is sponsored in part by the Tri-Cities News, G&F Financial and Alliance Printing.
