Exhibition of Hoi Seng Ieong’s Cantonese Opera Arts Collection

June 21st – July 3rd, 2016

Opening Reception: Saturday June 25th, 2016 2:00pm

Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver









Co-presented by Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver and Canada Cantonese Opera Association, Exhibition of Hoi Seng Ieong’s Cantonese Opera Arts Collection, is taking place at the Chinese Cultural Center Museum from June 21st untill July 3rd, 2016. The opening reception is scheduled for June 25th, 2016 at 2:00pm at the museum.

Yueju Opera (Cantonese Opera) is inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Professional Cantonese Opera performer Mr. Hoi Seng Ieong has been performing in China and Canada for over fifty years. In this exhibition he is sharing an abundant collection of costumes, headdresses, props, musical instruments, scenery backdrops, facial make-up samples and archives with the Vancouver audience. 

Special Cantonese Opera performances will be held on June 26, 2016 and July 1, 2016 during 1pm- 3:30pm at Chinese Cultural Centre Museum. Admission by donation. Seating is limited. Please call 604-658-8880 to reserve your tickets.
