The Legacy Art Galleries has posted a 3-year term position for Academic and Community Programs Coordinator.

Job Summary

This position will enable Legacy's collection and exhibitions to lend further relevance and contribute to research mobilization and experiential learning opportunities as per the University's strategic plan and goals of the UVIC Edge related to Dynamic Learning and Vital Impact.

Reporting to the Director, this position will work directly with faculty and students across disciplines enhancing the Legacy Art Galleries as a learning and teaching resource. The Coordinator of Academic and Community Programs will be focused on developing and facilitating educational programs related to the exhibitions and the art collection. With face to face interaction with faculty, students and general public, the position will explore new ideas to develop cross-disciplinary learning opportunities that take many forms both on campus in classrooms and the campus gallery space, and in the downtown Legacy Art Gallery venue.

The University Art Gallery Legacy Art Galleries (Legacy) assists the academic and cultural development of the university community by preserving and exhibiting art for the pursuit and communication of knowledge. As a leader in cultural and academic collaborations, Legacy Art Galleries reaches across disciplines, within and beyond the university to engage curiosity, inspire creativity, and foster research and learning through art.  . Legacy's goal is to develop new programming opportunities to grow and enhance its links with the wider community as well as provide academic teaching opportunities to maximize the University of Victoria Legacy Art Galleries and its collection as a learning resource across disciplines.
