[BCMA] Mackie Lake House Opportunities

Mackie Lake House Foundation is looking to employ two summer students from
May to August and is now accepting applications until Friday, April 22nd. 

 

The following positions are available:

 

1.      Heritage Interpreter

The successful applicant will work with the Foundation Manager to develop
and execute a strategy for marketing, creating interpretive programs and
administering events including weekly House Tours presenting the related
history of the Mackie Lake House. Included in this job will be the research
and development of new Tour script and supporting information panels,
maintenance of related artifacts and data, and promotion and co-ordination
of program delivery. 

 

2.      Marketing and Events Manager

The successful applicant will develop and execute a strategy for marketing,
creating and administering events presenting the history of the Mackie Lake
House. Included in this job will be planning for events including logistics,
communication, signage and collateral requirements. Provide on-site event
coordination including problem-solving and decision-making. This person will
also create, manage and modify pages created on internal websites and social
media sites. Perform a variety of administrative functions, including data
management and correspondence. 

 

Both positions work closely with and are accountable to the MLH Foundation
Manager. 

 

Applicants must fulfill eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs
Initiative and/or Young Canada Works Program including registration on the
YCW web site 



Ideally, the applicants will have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate
study in a relevant subject field (i.e. History, Communications, Art
History, Visual Arts, Marketing or Education) and will have some experience
as a volunteer or employee in a related field. The candidate should have an
expressed interest in working in Heritage and have familiarity and interest
in the history of the BC Interior.
