[BCMA] regarding the funding shorfall

I would suggest that our best defense is a good offence.
We have had the same happen here for Chase. Applied for 16 and got funding
for 10. I believe Kira Westby from Smithers has called it. I would like to
get some letters going out from the Museum sector to our MP's .. If any of
the museums who fall under Cathy McLeod's jurisdiction is interested in
joining the Chase and District Museum in sending a joint letter of protest
please contact me so we can organize the letter.
I would also suggest that every museum contact their MLA (Todd Stone here)
as well as their City councils to obtain letters of support. I remember the
push was sent out before deadline about how much more funding was available
for Summer Jobs and yet everyone is sold short.
The student we hired applied because it is a full time position that ran
for the entire summer. The majority of students need to work the entire
summer in order to save enough for tuition. She may not be able to stay in
this position because it falls short of fulfilling her financial needs for
summer employment. She would have to look for another full time job at the
end of July for one month and we will be left without an employee for the
busiest time of our summer season. This is a lose lose situation.
