Hi Tracy,
I am quite fond of Profitek: http://www.profitek.com/
I used it in the small community museum & geoscience centre in Canmore,
Alberta to the large Cannery National Historic Site in Steveston. You can
manage your products using built in barcodes, print barcodes for other
products, create short hand codes for items smaller than the barcode
sticker, track the cashier, run many different built in reports, and much
more.
There are minor irritations to the program (I've heard some people who've
used it be flustered by the need to count exactly the number of each coin
type during cash out and can attest that a Laser printer for your barcodes
is a better choice over a DeskJet) but overall, it was a very good system
that I enjoyed using.
Rob Hart is the Senior Manager of Operations at the Cannery and oversees
the gift shop. I would try getting in touch with him for more information.
Cheers,
Amanda Sittrop
