Hi Wendy,
You might want to check out eHive (http://info.ehive.com/). It is free or low cost depending on how much storage space you need and has an interactive public component that looks interesting. We recently did a major evaluation of database software and while eHive didn’t meet our needs it definitely looked like an intriguing possibility for an organization with a tight budget.

This is a tiny museum with a lot of bits of information and a stack of boxes of more. I have some in Excel, some in word, some hardcopy.

At this point the files have not been digitalized and the newly built GHPM website is awaiting uploading to the community's website. Those files included are separate documents not currently linked.

Before I tackle the boxes which officially begins the Archives component of the project I need a data base and a retrieval system. Money is available but not a lot and it would perhaps be better spent on hiring someone to upload it all.

Any suggestions welcome
