Education and Volunteer Manager - Audain Art Museum
Applications are now being accepted for the Education & Volunteer Manager at the Audain Art Museum. This position develops and manages the Volunteer Program for the Museum, develops and delivers a wide range of educational programming for the permanent collection and special exhibitions and develops exciting and innovative community engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Recruit, train, schedule and supervise volunteers for all areas of operations including visitor services and educational programs
* Research, develop, implement and evaluate educational programs
* Assist Chief Curator in the delivery of educational programs
* Develop comprehensive docent training program, managing and leading group of docents in the facilitation of tours and classes
* Develop gallery tours, programs and workshops for audiences of all ages
* Liaise with the appropriate committees and groups of Sea to Sky School District #48
* Develop school programs and learning resources for delivery at the Audain Art Museum and in the schools
* Initiate and develop sponsorships and community partnerships for all new projects
* Promote community outreach programs through promotional materials and written and oral presentations
* Prepare reports, proposals and budgets
* Manage budget for art materials and contractors
* Purchase supplies for programs
Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree in the area of art education, education, fine arts or a related field
* 3-5 years' experience in arts and culture activities
* Experience in recruiting and training volunteers
* Professional track record in developing, implementing and marketing successful education programs and resources
* Experience in the preparation of informational, promotional and publicity material
* Knowledge of educational learning principles with a strong knowledge of school curriculum guidelines in a variety of subjects from K-12
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organizational, time-management and teamwork skills
* Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
* Confidence, flexibility and a sense of humour are essential
* Excellent knowledge of computers and software packages
* Must have a valid BC driver's license and the ability to pass credit and criminal record checks
