Help with your Photographic Digitization Projects
Hello fellow members, Our BCMA webmaster Ben Fast says that because of the title I originally sent this out under it may have ended up in a lot of spam bins, so I’ll try it again here under a new “subject” line. Sorry if you are getting it twice...
When I retired from my long professional practice I joined the BCMA in a desire to give back to the museum community that has supported me so well. I joined to be able to have the opportunity to teach members and institutions how to effectively photograph their 2d and 3d collections for the necessity of digital presentation and preservation. There are many specialized techniques and paradigms relating to digitization of collections; I am conversant with most and interested in sharing that knowledge with you at your own location. And I am willing to do so for just direct travel expenses and an honorarium of $100 per day.
Any suitable model of teaching/learning experience is open for discussion including group sessions with neighbouring institutions, targeted subject topics, inside studio or outside locations, etc.. I would hope to make any occasion fun and useful to your needs.
I write to you now because I believe that the Irving K Barber Learning Centre is offering generous grant funding for just such endeavours, as shown in the latest HOOT. Their application deadline is Dec. 11th so time is of the essence.
If you have an interest in discussing the possibilities further I invite you to contact me me as listed below. If you want to view my old website and your browser will read Flash, you can get a sense of my experience using the web link suggested below. I enclose a quick bio for your perusal
“ Who is Rob d'Estrubé ?

He is also extensively collected by the University of Victoria Library, Special Collections with many thousands more.
