I think it's a good idea too, Darryl.

A huge thank you to all those who helped with the organization and hosting of the "Mindful Collecting" symposium the past couple of days. It was marvellous to have a forum where we could learn, share stories and reconnect with colleagues.

Part way through the session on the first day, I began to wonder why we don't do more interaction as curators, similar to the way Lower Mainland Museum Educators collaborate and support one another. It would be wonderful, even on a quarterly basis to share our stories and perhaps develop more symposia on specific topics like this program.

In the course of one of the discussions, Bruce suggested that maybe we could have 'worker bee' meetings, where we work through some of our most pressing problems by sharing resources of time and energy, with the idea that work we do today in someone's institution would be 'paid forward' in the future in our own.

I have seen a similar approach taken in Ontario, through Re-org. The stories are available on youtube. One story in particular was a three day blitz to completely reorganize a storage area to make it more functional [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5GWnNJw8NQ].

An added advantage would be that as we work together, we may become more familiar with the resources available in the library of institutions across a region, making it easier for us to plan our collections.

What do people think? Does this resonate with you?
