All you need is love at the Royal BC Museum this February

VICTORIA, BC-February brings love, lizards and language to the Royal BC Museum.

Whether you are deeply in love or on the lookout for a little lust in the lead-up to Cupid's favourite holiday, the Royal BC Museum has an adult-only party to help you celebrate Valentine's Day. Night Shift: Wild Romance<http://www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/visit/events/calendar/event/66330/night-shift-wild-romance> is presented in partnership with Atomique Productions on Saturday February 11 from 8:00 pm to midnight. Strike a pose with your bae in our photo booth, shake your tail feather to live music, show your love at The Makehouse craft station, and admire body painting performance by Danger by Design. Get your pulse racing with original dance numbers from Passion and Performance and join their lap dance lesson. Learn about plant and animal mating habits at Sex Talks with Scientists but save your human inquiries for Ask Mia, a sex therapist.  Enjoy the nectar of the gods served up by Truffles, and more. Love isn't the only thing spreading across BC. Dr. Gavin Hanke, Curator of Vertebrates, will discuss how European Wall Lizards are overrunning our province at Live @ Lunch Lizard Invasion<http://royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/visit/events/calendar/event/60115/live-lunch-lizard-invasion>, a lunchtime lecture in Newcombe Conference Hall on Wednesday February 1 at noon, with admission by donation.

Share the love at Wonder Sunday: Our Multicultural World<http://royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/visit/events/calendar/event/59208/wonder-sunday-our-multicultural-world> each week this month. Learn about the diversity of traditions in BC and celebrate the start of Chinese New Year, Black History Month, as well as International Mother Languages Day. Bring the family on February 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Attendance is included with admission or membership.

Curious about the upcoming Family: Bonds and Belonging<http://royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/visit/exhibitions/family> exhibition? Get a sneak peek at the interactive features of the exhibition from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Family is not all relative; make sure your family-whatever you consider it to be-is  represented in the exhibition by sharing your story of what family means to you. Participation is included with museum admission or membership.

Show your love of language by celebrating International Mother Languages Day<http://royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/visit/events/calendar/event/60102/international-mother-languages-day> at the Royal BC Museum on February 19. Explore the feature exhibition Our Living Languages<http://royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/visit/exhibitions/our-living-languages-first-peoples-voices-bc> and from 1:00 to 3:00 pm engage in activities and listen to talks in the exhibition about the resilience and diversity of First Nations languages in BC in the face of change. Our Living Languages was created in partnership with the First Peoples' Cultural Council.
