SUMMER WALKING TOURS
Join us on a sesqui-tour as we explore the people, the stories, and a few of the surprises of early Kelowna. Leaving from the Okanagan Heritage Museum, this outdoor walking tour is approximately a 1km loop.

SUMMER EXHIBITION AT THE OKANAGAN HERITAGE MUSEUM

The Kelowna Museums Society is featuring a series of paintings and new media works by artist Heather Cline. Quiet Stories from Canadian Places is a national touring exhibition created in response to Canada’s 150th anniversary celebration. Last fall the artist interviewed Kelowna residents who shared personal memories of their homes and the community. Cline was inspired to paint some of the locations, connecting with the subject matter through other people’s reminiscences and experiences of place. The resulting exhibition, installed at the Okanagan Heritage Museum, features fifty paintings interspersed with audio stories that create a dynamic narrative space filled with images and soundscapes.

Join us each week for a new and exciting way to explore the people and places of the Okanagan. Family drop-in programs are designed for caretakers to stay and participate alongside their kids. Check our website for weekly theme and schedule. Suggested $5 family donation

Patrick Lamontagne of Okanagan World of Reptiles provides a thrilling and educational presentation about reptiles and other wildlife. Get hands-on with these remarkable animals! Okanagan Heritage Museum I Suggested $10 family donation

Sesqui-what? In 2017, Canada celebrates its 150th anniversary, or sesquicentennial. This anniversary is also known as Canada 150, or Cl50 for short. Visit a museum and explore diverse cultures, histories, and possibilities.

CEMETERY TOURS
Join local historian, Bob Hayes, and the Kelowna Museums for a walk through the past! The cemetery tours highlight people and stories of early Kelowna in a series of four tours. Join for one, or all four! Memorial Park Cemetery (Pioneer Section) I $5 per person

RAID ON DIEPPE: THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY
What were the controversial plans, the events, and the consequences of this historical event? Join us as we explore the details of Dieppe. Light refreshments will be served. Okanagan Military Museum I Suggested $5 donation
