Colleagues,

Registration is now open for the AABC's distance education course "Managing
Plans and Drawings".

*Registration:* June 26 - August 7, 2017

*Course duration:* September 11 - November 20, 2017

Architectural records are perhaps the least understood medium in the
archival world. There are many different types of drawings, from blueprints
to renderings, sketches to CADs. What should you accept, what is valuable,
how are they best preserved? Using the publication *Architectural Records:
Managing Design and Construction Records*, students will be introduced to
the management of plans and drawings in seven modules that include history
of architecture, understanding the creation process, appraisal, arrangement
and description, preservation, providing access and digitization.

Students can expect to work 10-12 hours a week for the duration of the
course.

*Cost:* AABC members $350.00 (CAD) / Non-member $500.00 (CAD); plus the
cost of the course textbook

*Textbook: * Waverly B. Lowell and Tawny Ryan Nelb. *Architectural
Records: Managing Design and Construction Records* (SAA, 2006); special
publisher's discounted cost of $50.00 USD (includes shipping to Canada)
available to students upon registering for the course.

*Limit:* 22 students
