The History of My City: Children's Edition

Location: Greater Vernon Museum & Archives
Dates:  Friday March 31, 2017 & Saturday April 1, 2017

Looking for a fun way to get your kids/grandkids excited about our local history? Over Spring break the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives will be hosting engaging and educational workshops creating artwork inspired by tales of Okanagan history. Archaeologist, Writer & Artist Fabricio Valdivieso will facilitate the interactive workshops aimed at children 6-9. Through storytelling and his own artwork Fabricio will present our local history, followed by the opportunity for children to make their own drawings of Vernon's history, which will then be considered for use in his upcoming publication. These free workshops will run from 10-11am and 1-2pm, both Friday March 31st and Saturday April 1st at the museum. Space is limited, please pre-register by March 29th to ensure your spot.
