Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at 2 pm to 4 pm at the BC Farm Museum, 9131 King
Street, Fort Langley, BC.

You are invited to attend the "Grand Unveiling" of our newly painted murals
and the "Ribbon Cutting" to open our renovated workshops! By attending, you
will be one of the first to see these outstanding hand painted murals
created by seven of BC's most talented artists.
Stay for refreshments, meet the artists and tour the workshops as well as
the whole BC Farm Museum.

These murals depict how early pioneer life and agriculture in general has
progressed since the early 1800's. Kwantlen First Nation's artist Phyllis
Atkins painted the mural on the Queen Street wall, it depicts the
relationship the Kwantlen people had with the Fraser River, the salmon and
the people of the HBC FORT. Inside the museum you will find a timeline, in
art, of the agricultural heritage of British Columbia painted by Toni
Williams and Judy Jordison. A collection of seven individual murals along
the mezzanine rails, painted by Vivian Harder and Darlene Maher MacDonald,
showcase early agricultural scenes. Going outside to King Street see a mural
featuring women's contribution to pioneer life by Vivian Harder. The last
six panels we will unveil depict local agricultural scenes, the work of
local Fort Langley artists Alan Wylie and Janice Robertson.

The renovated workshops provide a safer and healthier place for volunteers
to work while restoring the heritage artifacts donated to us.

This project was made possible through matched funding from the Federal
Government's Canada 150 Infrastructure Program as well as support from The
Province of BC, Township of Langley, the Langley Heritage Society, Allan &
Gwendoline Pyatt Foundation and Farm & Ranch Realty.

We hope you will attend on June 17th at 2 pm.
