Steveston's indoor winter market opens it doors October 15th

Richmond, BC - The Cannery Farmers' Market starts its new season on Sunday, October 15th. From 10am to 3pm on market Sundays, visitors can browse the wares of local vendors and artisans from throughout the Lower Mainland, enjoy musical entertainment, and connect with community groups, all inside the historic Cannery in Steveston. Vendors include returning favourites Wheelhouse Seafoods, Campbell's Gold Honey Farm, and Ladner Artisan Chocolates, as well as new additions Virtue Natural Bakery, Solecito Salsas, West Coast Brine, and many more!
Operated by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society, the market will feature local organizations for special in-market events surrounding themes that are important to our communities and life on the west coast. Celebrations for seasonal holidays on Halloween and Christmas will feature family-friendly activities, with an appearance by Santa Claus at the December 3rd market.
Trish Whetstone, Market Manager, comments "We're expanding the market to become a destination over the winter. We have great local vendors of all kinds, and are showcasing what's important to our community by encouraging visitors to come to the Cannery and to stay in Steveston for the day. There is so much here; our history is rich, but so is our present and future. We're excited to invite people to experience that. It's going to be a great season!"
Admission to the market is free. Guided heritage tours of the Cannery offered by donation. The market will run on Sundays from October 2017 through April 2018 on the following dates: October 15 & 29, November 11 & 26, December 3, 10 & 17, January 28, February 11 & 25, March 11 & 25, and April 8 & 22.
