Vancouver, BC September 25, 2017

The Vancouver Police Museum & Archives will start a monthly Admission by
Donation Day on the last Saturday of every month effective September 2017.
A donation is not required but will be kindly accepted if visitors are
willing and able. #ScotFreeSaturday will run all day from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
This first Saturday also coincides with BC Culture Days and the Vancouver
Police Department Lion Dance Team will be performing at 1:00pm with the
opportunity to meet the team and lions after. Everyone is welcome!

It has been a long time goal of the museum to have a “By Donation” day and
we are excited to welcome everyone on the last Saturday of every month to
#ScotFreeSaturdays at the museum, beginning September 30th, 2017. We hope
this monthly event will provide an opportunity for those who are not able
to visit the museum to do so and hope it will better our engagement with
the community the museum resides in.

About the museum:

The Vancouver Police Museum & Archives is an independent museum run by the
Vancouver Police Historical Society, a registered charity that is neither
part of nor funded by either the Vancouver Police Department or the City of
Vancouver. The Museum’s foundations began in celebration of the Vancouver
Police Department’s centennial anniversary in 1986 and have since expanded
beyond the blue lens of local law enforcement to include the history of the
Vancouver Coroner’s Services and the historic City Analyst Laboratory that
houses the Museum.
