[BCMA] Conference Call for Presenters Announcement

Hello Interpreters and Educators,


I am reaching out to let you know about Interpretation Canada's upcoming Online National Conference. I am hoping that you would be able to share our conference announcement and call for presenters with your team and colleagues who may be interested in joining us.


>From October 10 to 12, we will be connecting interpreters from coast to coast to coast to explore Diverse Voices in Interpretation.


Heritage interpretation is a diverse field. It's what attracts many of us to this career and we at Interpretation Canada celebrate it.  Our members work in science centres, parks, museums, aquariums, gardens, historic sites and more, interpreting a broad range of topics to audiences of all ages, cultures, abilities, and genders.


But is diversity appropriately reflected in our staff and colleagues? Do the experts we regularly hear from accurately represent the diversity of those who work in our field? Who aren't we hearing from?

We are seeking presentation proposals from interpreters, academics, museum professionals, tourism operators, and others who can challenge our thinking about heritage interpreters and what our work looks like.  If you've run a successful partnership program, if you interpret your own culture in a unique way, if you work to address issues around accessibility, if you have something to say that can help us nurture diversity in our field, we want to hear from you.
