Family Saturday, February 24th, at 1 p.m.
Color Collages with Kevin Spetifore

This month enjoy a tour and workshop led by exhibiting artist Kevin Spetifore. Using Benjamin Moore colour chips,  participants are invited to make a five-colour module similar to those used in the series of the collages in What’s Around the Corner?

What’s Around the Corner? is an exhibition inspired by the formal elements of design and consists of a large geometric mural painted directly on the wall of the gallery complemented by small to mid-size paint chip collages.

Mini Artists | Exploring Printmaking
Monday, February 26, at 10 a.m.

This month we will start our session off by engaging with Briar Craig’s installation titled Words on Paper (and other things). Inspired by his ideas and large-scale prints, we will head to the classroom to create our own prints experimenting with monoprinting practices.

Mini Artists takes place on the last Monday of every month for a diverse exploration of art-making materials and age appropriate process-based art activities. Mini Artists is for kids ages 5 and under, parents must accompany children.

Active Workings by Sean Caulfield

Through installation, sculpture and printmaking Sean Caulfield’s work considers the ways our environment is transformed by forces of urban and industrial growth. The visual images and environments he creates blur boundaries between the biological and the technological, the organic and the mechanical, and challenge viewers to consider the implications of this merging.
