Hi Tammy;
I would concur with the other posts regarding the pros and cons of acrylic vs glass. The most expensive and the highest level of safety would be laminated tempered glass.
I have also taken the liberty of processing the image of the Doukhobor Discovery Centre Implement Shed to render the shadow areas a bit more visible.
Regards;
Chris

It keeps visitors from crawling over, or touching artifacts while still keeping the space open for viewing. This does not keep the bugs away but the roof overhang keeps the elements away and, for the most part, the artifacts have remained in relatively good condition. I've attached an image of our structure. It was purposely built with a rustic feel in mind.

However, as this is right at the main entrance to the Museum’s property, I also want to keep that nice welcoming openness of the shed – so I was thinking Plexiglas display cases without wooden or metal frames – just a support along the bottom – to protect the objects without adding any more solid structure to the space than absolutely necessary. The cases will be along the sides of the shed, between the support posts, so under the roof but still within range of blowing rain and snow.

And is there a way to build these cases so they are sealed but still let us change or add objects occasionally without having to destroy things?
