Good Afternoon,

As a brief introduction, my name is Calista Burnett and I am a born and
raised Albertan attending university in York, England. My MA is in funerary
archaeology and I am hoping to gain connections to any possible archives,
collections, researchers, or papers which may help with my dissertation. As
I will be moving back to Canada after the summer, most likely BC, I am
hoping to compare skeletal collections which I have access to including a
Roman and a Medieval, to those of NW Coast remains. Currently I am leading
towards studying teeth and associated human behavior. The division of human
behavior may be divided into 4 classes (dietary - crown wear, implementable
- biological equipment as tools, incidental - labrets, and intentional -
cosmetic effect/social organ). More simply put, the examination of dental
and jaw abscesses to define differences of bio- and culturally- modified
teeth. Depending on previous research available, variances between sex,
cultural groups, or biological distance may be measured.

If there is any collections or individuals who you think may be of use to
me or interested in suggesting an associated topic, I would love to work
further with them.
Please do not hesitate to contact for further questions.

Best,
Calista
